We're so happy to be playing at Mona Vale GC

Conclusion
IMHO, Mona Vale GC is definitely a MUSt to visit. The views are splendid with nice breeze over the area and this is especially good in summer. The course is immaculate in most aspects and the firm green is challenging even to most experienced golfers. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful and it's not too difficult to chip the ball out of the woods. For the first 9, the course is pretty flat and forgiving but the last 9 have some interesting design. The bunkers are generally flatter than Cypress Lakes and according to Uncle Butch, bunker shots are one of the easiest to play. I'll always remember his encouragement and no doubt, Hendri, Des and Mikey will continue to remind me whenever I hit the bunker.
Some highlights of the game include Hendri's approach shot to the green and the ball rolled nicely towards the hole but wasn't enough to sink it. Mikey did a similar stunt in the back 9.
Lowlights would include Hendri losing 2 golf balls from the tee and Mikey joined in the fun. I think the lack of food kinda affected our energy levels. Guys, remember to bring lots of choc bars next time.
As for me, I hit some decent shots but I am bitterly disappointed with the first 2 holes. Des and I realised that we couldn't get into the rhythm and those 2 holes kinda dampened the mood. I need to improve my short game especially within the 120m range from the green, back to the drawing board so to speak. In addition, I need to add woods and a hybrid to my bag.
Golf is such a difficult game but you'll always want more of it. Des once said golf is about beating yourself, playing your own game and I couldn't agree more. Perhaps, this is the reason that keeps me awake at night before the game (sometimes) and even deprivation of sleep (Kimberley) would not stop me from teeing up with Mikey.
Mikey, thanks again for organising the games over the last few weeks. If there's one person to blame for taking away my nappy changing, shh-patting responsibility, it will have to be you. Sorry, you're an easy target. Hehe... I'm looking forward to more golf with you and the gang in 2007.
Bring it on.
