Hainanese Chicken Rice, oh yeah!
Michelle wanted chicken rice last night. So I took up the 'challenge' to cook Hainanese Chicken Rice using the Prima Deli mixture. The only things I needed were fresh chicken, cucumbers and tomatoes. 1.3kg steggles fresh whole chicken from Bi-Lo, 3 tomatoes and 1 cucumber (apparently, Lebanese cucumbers are much nicer according to Michelle) The total cost is A$9.27. I followed the instructions written in Chinese to simmer the chicken with the special mixture. As you can, there are heaps of garlic. I had some difficulty reading the Chinese instructions but came out unscathed. Little did I know that there's English instructions on the box itself, thanks for pointing that out Michelle. Chopping a whole chicken into pieces is a skill that I need to master. I know the presentation isn't that great but hey, it's my first time chopping a whole chicken. I drizzled the chicken with the soya sauce as the last step. I also cooked the rice with fragrance oil that comes with the Prima Taste packet. Some vegetables with boiled with the soup left from simmering the chicken. Some garlic crush and chilli. That's our dinner!
